Gabrielle Schaefer is a founding member of the NYC chapter of Gold Rush Cure. She was introduced to the organization through her aunt who is both a a longtime contributor to GRC as well as a close friend to Sandy Barker. Gabrielle grew up alongside childhood cancer as her best friend's sister battled a rare form of Leukemia for 17 years. With a personal connection to this cause, and as an older sister, Gabriele has volunteered with children throughout her life and is excited to ensure that the city she calls home is never too daunting to bring a smile to patients nearby. A true "New Yorker," Gabrielle has lived in the city for ten years and is a Business Director at an advertising agency.
Brooke is one of the NYC Chapter Leads residing in Brooklyn, NY. Her passion for raising awareness and funds for pediatric cancer patients started when she was a high school student volunteering at on the Oncology/Hematology Unit at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH. After growing close to a young woman who lost her battle against cancer, her passion to make a difference for kids and their families kicked off! She received her degree from The Ohio State University and specialized in Non-Profit Management. Over the years Brooke has worked and volunteered for a variety of organizations that support pediatric cancer including Nellie's Champions for Kids, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio, BuckeyeThon and more!
