COVID-19 IMPACT UPDATE

Latest Update: March 31, 2020

No words can begin to speak to the setbacks our world has experienced over the last couple of months. At Gold Rush Cure Foundation, we feel the impact that COVID-19 has made on our ability to support the childhood cancer community. GRCF feels fortunate that we were able to bring joy to hundreds of children through our Pot of Gold program, and we look forward to spreading more cheer in the future.

Our primary mission at Gold Rush Cure Foundation is to protect and advocate for the health and safety of children suffering from childhood cancer and their families. With consideration of how vulnerable our heroes are due to their immunodeficiencies, we wish to share an update on what we are doing to adjust while COVID-19 presents a threat to our world.

Children and their families:

  • All in-person Pot of Gold deliveries are on hold until April 30th, 2020 or until it’s safe to do so.
  • For deliveries scheduled before this date, we will be in touch to reschedule the delivery.
  • We will be closely following CDC guidelines to determine when we can safely and officially resume our in-person deliveries.
  • We will be using this time to work on expanding enrollment into our Pot of Gold Alumni Program. More information to come shortly.

Referring Hospitals:

  • While deliveries are on hold, we are currently accepting request forms sent to Gold Rush Cure Foundation. We want to avoid requests getting lost or forgotten. Please continue sending them to us through your normal communication channels, and let families know there will be a delay until it’s safe to resume.
  • All requests will be filed with us and we update the families regarding the timeframe as needed.

Volunteers & Supporters:

  • Although our Pot of Gold deliveries are on hold, our project operations are in full swing.
  • We have rolled out our new volunteer portal (login here or apply to volunteer). This is a great time to sign up, complete your training and keep in touch so that once deliveries resume we can coordinate with you.
  • We are expanding the ways that volunteers can be involved with our organization. Soon, volunteers will be able to join committees chaired by members of our Board tasked with fulfilling annual goals - we hope you will join us.
  • Your donations and continued support help to keep us a 100% volunteer organization that ensures every dollar goes to support children

We thank you for your continued support, and appreciate both your patience and efforts to make this unprecedented time as smooth as possible. If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to your GRCF representative or submit a direct inquiry on our website (www.goldrushcure.org).
