Latest Update: April 2, 2021

Gold Rush Cure can announce some positive progress as we work through the COVID-19 global pandemic. As vaccination rates increase there will be more of a return to "normal". The risk to immunocompromised families continues and we will be following the CDC guidelines and our hospital partners as we continue to operate the Pot of Gold program. All volunteers are to follow these guidelines to continue to be diligent in reaching children fighting cancer and their special families.

Gold Rush Cure Foundation is focused on protecting and advocating for the health and safety of children suffering from childhood cancer and their families. Our incoming donations have been significantly reduced since the gala that funded our operations cannot happen for the past years +. Please donate today if you can to help!

Children and their families:

  • In all areas the new COVID-19 delivery protocols must be followed.
  • Delivery experiences/locations will vary by state and impacted areas. All deliveries will be coordinated with the parents to determine what they feel is best for their child/teen and in most cases home and outdoor deliveries are the standard.
  • Per the CDC guidelines, all volunteers and families will be asked to follow the recommendations of wearing masks, using hand sanitizer and respecting the 6’ distancing. All volunteers that will be around families and children must not have flown or been sick within the past two weeks.

Referring Hospitals:

  • We are currently accepting request forms sent to Gold Rush Cure Foundation. We want to avoid requests getting lost or forgotten. Please continue sending them to us through your normal communication channels, and let families know there will be a delay until it’s safe to resume.
  • All requests will be filed with us and we update the families regarding the timeframe as needed.

Volunteers & Supporters:

  • We have rolled out our new volunteer portal (login here or apply to volunteer). This is a great time to sign up, complete your training and keep in touch so that once deliveries resume we can coordinate with you.
  • In order to volunteer for in-person deliveries you must follow the new GRCF guidelines given the difficult situation we are facing with COVID. You will be advised and trained on these guidelines prior to any in-person deliveries.

Celebrate Heroes Gala Postponed to 2022:

  • Due to COVID-19 restrictions we had to postpone our Celebrating Heroes Gala until 2022. Stay tuned for a date announcement.
  • Please keep checking back here for other fundraising events and updates as they are announced.

We thank you for your continued support, and appreciate both your patience and efforts to make this unprecedented time as smooth as possible. If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to your GRCF representative or submit a direct inquiry on our website (
