Latest Update: September 21, 2020

Six months into the COVID-19 pandemic Gold Rush Cure can announce some positive progress. Of course no words can begin to speak to the setbacks our world has experienced over the last several months. Gold Rush Cure re-started Pot of Gold operations in June and has updated our policy for families and volunteers to have these deliveries occur safely.

Gold Rush Cure Foundation is focused on protecting and advocating for the health and safety of children suffering from childhood cancer and their families.

Children and their families:

  • In all areas the new COVID-19 delivery protocols must be followed.
  • Delivery experiences/locations will vary by state and impacted areas. All deliveries will be coordinated with the parents to determine what they feel is best for their child/teen and in most cases home and outdoor deliveries are the standard.
  • Per the CDC guidelines, all volunteers and families will be asked to follow the recommendations of wearing masks, using hand sanitizer and respecting the 6’ distancing. All volunteers that will be around families and children must not have flown or been sick within the past two weeks.

Referring Hospitals:

  • We are currently accepting request forms sent to Gold Rush Cure Foundation. We want to avoid requests getting lost or forgotten. Please continue sending them to us through your normal communication channels, and let families know there will be a delay until it’s safe to resume.
  • All requests will be filed with us and we update the families regarding the timeframe as needed.

Volunteers & Supporters:

  • We have rolled out our new volunteer portal (login here or apply to volunteer). This is a great time to sign up, complete your training and keep in touch so that once deliveries resume we can coordinate with you.
  • In order to volunteer for in-person deliveries you must follow the new GRCF guidelines given the difficult situation we are facing with COVID. You will be advised and trained on these guidelines prior to any in-person deliveries.

November Date Postponed to April 17, 2021:

  • Due to COVID-19 restrictions we had to postpone our Celebrating Heroes Gala until April 17, 2021. The November gala will not take place.
  • Please keep checking back here for updates as they are announced.

We thank you for your continued support, and appreciate both your patience and efforts to make this unprecedented time as smooth as possible. If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to your GRCF representative or submit a direct inquiry on our website (
