Dylan – 20 Years Old

We planned Dylan’s Pot of Gold delivery to coincide with his birthday! He was in the hospital for 10 days for an infection, so we worked out a way to have a party in the Family Resource Center at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Dylan’s mom Jennifer and sister Jordyn came early to help decorate and GRCF brought pizza and drinks. We really expected Dylan to not be excited about spending his birthday in the hospital with immediate family and a stranger, but he was so happy and pleasant. He wanted to open gifts first. He was so excited about every one. He is such a happy guy. You almost forget what all he is dealing with because he never mentions it at all and his attitude is great. We all ate pizza and visited and had a great afternoon. They were all so grateful. In particular, Dylan’s dad told us thank you over and over. It was such an honor to meet them all, they are an amazing family!

Gold Rush Cure wants to reach as many children like Dylan as possible.  Please help us keep up this fight.  Enjoy the pictures of Dylan’s delivery below.

covid-19 notice

Since early 2020 GRCF has made several modifications to our original plan. We are mindful of our young heroes fighting cancer, many of whom are immunocompromised and going through difficult treatment. While GRCF is following the lead of our children’s hospital partners, our COVID-19 policy for the Pot of Gold Program is in line with current CDC guidelines. Volunteers working with the Pot of Gold program are asked to:

GRCF always relies on the parents to make the ultimate decision on delivery location and preferences. Volunteers for GRCF will reach out prior to discuss deliveries and allow the parent(s)/guardians to make the best decision for their family.

No GRCF events are currently impacted by COVID-19 and will proceed as scheduled.
