Gold Rush Cure Foundation Volunteer Jeremy Bliler Honored by Arizona’s Family Surprise Squad

For nearly two decades, Jeremy Bliler has been the one showing up with the surprises. This September, during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, someone finally surprised him.

Jeremy helps lead Arizona efforts for Gold Rush Cure Foundation, bringing joy to children fighting cancer at hospitals across the state, including Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Cardon Children’s Medical Center, Banner Health facilities, and medical centers in Tucson. His commitment started in 2008, when he met a young girl battling osteosarcoma. That meeting turned into a lifelong calling.

At the heart of his work is the Pot of Gold: a personalized delivery of toys, games, and electronics chosen from a secret wish list each family shares with us. Volunteers gather twice a month to wrap every gift in gold, and every delivery arrives as a complete surprise. Jeremy is a champion of making sure siblings are part of the celebration too, because brothers and sisters often carry a quiet weight while a parent is at the hospital. Our goal is to wrap our arms around the whole family, and Jeremy lives that every day.

This time, the tables turned. Gina, a fellow Gold Rush Cure Foundation volunteer and longtime friend, nominated Jeremy and lured him outside with a simple request for help with her car. Waiting for Jeremy and his wife, Unies, was Arizona’s Family Surprise Squad, presenting a $5,000 gift on behalf of Arizona’s Family and Valley Toyota Dealers. Between busy schedules and countless hours given to our families, the couple has never had a honeymoon. Now they finally can.

Jeremy, thank you for everything you give. You are a true Everyday Hero®, and we couldn’t be prouder.
